Construction – 2010
To design a summer kennel with natural materials for Coco. That was the idea behind this little project, which also included its construction.
The concept was simple: a cube made out of wooden square-section stripes with an extruded “L” intersecting it, made out of recycled pallet. The construction was a bit more complex, since in-between the stripes we had to leave a gap that had a double mission: ventilation and views for Coco. 6 vertical square-section stripes were used as a columns in the corners, to which the horizontal stripes and pallet parts were screwed. The floor was also built out of recycled pallet, raised up to insulate it from grass humidity and it had a small hall outside where the food is normally placed.
Coco did not allow us to finish, already during construction he went in and out to get to know his new space.
